Development Intern (Communications & Donor Engagement)

About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Utah is seeking a Development Intern to support its development team. This part‑time role (10 hours per week) runs from August to December 2026 and offers hands‑on experience in nonprofit communications and donor relations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare one newsletter story each month for the IRC’s e‑newsletter.
- Gather content ideas and leads for future storytelling initiatives.
- Draft and schedule at least two social‑media posts per month on Instagram and Facebook.
- Organise a professional photography shoot to support the year‑end appeal.
- Manage general communications with in‑kind donors, including inquiries about furniture and service donations.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic, solutions‑driven individual with a passion for humanitarian work.
- Strong written communication skills and an eye for storytelling.
- Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- Interest in nonprofit development, donor engagement, and community outreach.
