Development & Grants Intern (Fall 2026, Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Development & Grants Intern for the Fall 2026 term at its Tallahassee office. This unpaid position supports the Resource Development team in securing monetary, in‑kind, and volunteer resources to serve refugees and other clients.

Key responsibilities

• Research potential grant and community donation opportunities.
• Assist the Grants Management Specialist in maintaining accurate data across databases.
• Compile and analyze program data for grant writing and research.
• Coordinate with finance and management teams to develop grant applications.
• Help draft and submit grant proposals and donation applications.
• Support resource development tasks such as community engagement, external communications, event planning, and fundraising.
• Represent IRC at community events, networking functions, and recruitment activities.
• Participate in staff meetings and special development programs.

Required profile

• Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for at least three months.
• Strong interest in nonprofit development, grant research, and humanitarian work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
