Developer – Crew Solver

About the role

United's Digital Technology team is looking for a Developer to join the Crew Solver initiative. In this role you will help design, build and maintain scalable software solutions that support airline operations and enhance the travel experience for millions of passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing and modifying software applications and systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide support to senior developers and contribute to moderate‑to‑complex projects.
• Apply security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain software documentation and user manuals.
• Perform comprehensive unit testing and support deployment activities.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Support and troubleshoot software systems, optimizing performance and resolving issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience or successful completion of United DT Early Career Digital Leadership Program.
• Proficiency in a programming language and experience building back‑end components.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication.
• Eagerness to learn and apply advanced knowledge of SDLC processes, development methodologies, software design patterns and best practices.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
