Desktop Support Technician – Tier 1/2

About the role

The AME Group is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical assistance at our Plaquemine plant. You will support employees using desktops and laptops, resolve hardware and connectivity problems, and ensure smooth operation of IT equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level support for desktop and laptop users.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, and update applications as required.
• Respond to help‑desk tickets promptly and document resolutions.
• Deploy, recover, and baseline new computers for rollout.

Required profile

• CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb overhead and walk throughout the plant.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
• Must obtain or already hold a TWIC safety certification.
