Desktop Support Technician – Onsite (Contract to Hire)

About the role

Akkodis is looking for an onsite Desktop Support Technician II to join its team on a contract‑to‑hire basis. You will provide advanced, high‑touch technical support to end users in a fast‑paced environment, handling complex desktop issues and mentoring Tier I staff.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve complex desktop incidents and service requests across hardware, software, and network environments.
• Troubleshoot Windows and macOS systems, applications, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
• Provide guidance and escalation support to Tier I analysts.
• Research, test, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and workflows in the ticketing system.
• Prioritize tickets based on impact, urgency, and service‑level expectations.
• Escalate unresolved issues to higher‑level technical teams when appropriate.
• Deliver white‑glove support to senior and executive‑level users.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑first mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• 2–3 years of experience in a Tier II desktop or IT support role.
• Professionalism and a collaborative, self‑starter attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and macOS.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Office and related productivity tools.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Hands‑on experience with iOS devices, conference‑room AV systems, Lenovo laptops, and HP printers (or comparable enterprise hardware).
• Optional certifications: A+, Network+, Microsoft, ITIL Foundation.
