Desktop Support Technician

About the role

Patriot, LLC is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join its onsite team in Duluth. You will provide tier‑2 and tier‑3 support for Windows workstations, printers, plotters and video‑conference equipment in a production networked environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch and upgrade desktop, laptop and virtual workstation images.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across Windows XP, 7 and 10 platforms.
• Support local and networked printers/plotters and after‑market hardware.
• Set up, initiate and shut down multi‑site video conferences.
• Maintain asset records and update the ticket tracking system.
• Assist with office relocations by moving IT systems and peripherals.
• Follow SOPs and meet defined service‑level agreements.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 + year experience in a production networked environment.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a customer‑service mindset.
• Ability to work well with end users, IT team members and department managers.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10.
• Experience with BMC Remedy and/or ServiceNow ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of networked and locally attached printers/plotters.
• Video‑conference system setup and support.
• Hardware and software troubleshooting, patch installation, software upgrades.
• Asset management and ticket tracking updates.
