Designer – Candles & Home Accessories

About the role

Our client, a wholesale apparel and accessories company, is expanding its hard home goods division and seeks a creative Designer to lead the development of candles and related home accessories. The position is based in New York City and requires four days per week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Generate innovative product concepts that align with brand strategy, consumer insights and market opportunities.
• Create mood boards, colour stories and seasonal design directions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify new category opportunities and emerging trends.
• Produce CAD drawings, renderings and detailed product specifications for manufacturing.
• Prepare tech packs and ensure designs meet quality, safety, cost and manufacturability standards.
• Review prototypes, provide feedback and guide the development process.
• Design packaging solutions, including labels, cartons and gift presentations, and develop production‑ready artwork.
• Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform future product strategies.

Required profile

• 4‑6 + years of experience designing hard home goods, preferably candles or similar accessories.
• Strong organizational, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
