Design Lead

About the role

Quatrain Creative is seeking a hands‑on Design Lead to own the quality and execution of design work for content‑heavy B2B marketing assets. You will split your time between creating designs yourself and leading a small team of freelance designers, ensuring projects meet client expectations, high creative standards, schedules, and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality design work for multiple clients, focusing on long‑form assets such as ebooks, guidebooks, case studies, white papers, sales collateral, slide decks, and infographics.
• Manage and mentor a small group of freelance designers, write creative briefs, and translate client needs into actionable design direction.
• Review deliverables, provide constructive feedback, and attend client meetings as the design lead.
• Coordinate design workflows, maintain consistency across projects, and build internal style guides for each client.
• Improve the agency website and internal creative assets, and help establish design standards, templates, and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
• 5+ years of professional graphic or digital design experience, preferably in an agency or client‑services environment.
• Experience leading or mentoring designers or freelancers.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and project‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and reside in an Eastern or Central US time zone.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
• Strong PowerPoint design skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
