Design Engineer – Product Development

About the role

NIBCO is seeking a Design Engineer to support product design and development for new and existing flow‑control products. The role spans concept creation through production support, requiring strong engineering judgment and advanced 3D modeling capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Generate accurate 3D models and detailed engineering drawings following NIBCO standards.
• Participate in Design Thinking workshops and cross‑functional innovation activities.
• Interpret product requirements, standards, agency listings, building codes, and customer needs.
• Analyze concepts for design‑for‑manufacturing, design‑for‑assembly, and production feasibility.
• Maintain engineering document control per ISO procedures and ensure project deliverables meet timelines.
• Support data retrieval and documentation within PLM and SAP environments.
• Provide product support to sales, marketing, and customer service teams.
• Apply GD&T principles in design, modeling, and drafting.
• Contribute to design reviews, DFMEA discussions, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of engineering design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Associate of Science degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects.

Required skills

• Advanced 3D modeling (CAD) proficiency.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Experience with PLM systems.
• Familiarity with SAP for engineering documentation.
