Design Engineer – Mid Level

About the role

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Lunar Lander team in Houston. The role involves developing, manufacturing, testing, and supporting flight and ground hardware for lunar missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts and assemblies for the Lunar Lander system.
• Create detailed part, assembly, and lifting procedure drawings using CAD tools.
• Assist in developing manufacturing processes and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, weight, and schedule requirements.
• Support on‑orbit operations and ground support equipment.

Required profile

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of design experience, or M.S. with at least 3 years.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Ability to work under compressed, aggressive delivery schedules.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software – Creo and/or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Understanding of carbon‑fiber sandwich panel construction (preferred).
