Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead mechanical design of valves, pumps, and fluid‑control devices for aerospace and defense applications. You will own projects from concept through development, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for valves, pumps, and fluid‑control hardware from concept to production.
• Perform and oversee stress, thermal, fluid‑flow, and tolerance stack‑up analyses.
• Ensure designs meet customer component and sub‑tier specifications.
• Define and coordinate development testing (DVT, ATP, QTP) and verification matrices.
• Prepare and support PDR/CDR technical reviews and generate customer deliverables (CDRLs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, supply chain, and program management.
• Proactively communicate technical and schedule issues to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• 2–5 years of mechanical design experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Required skills

• Mechanical design of electro‑mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Stress, thermal, fluid‑flow, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Knowledge of valves, pumps, and fluid‑control devices.
• Experience with development testing (DVT, ATP, QTP) and verification matrices.
