Design Engineer

About the role

The Design Engineer will create, develop, analyze and implement hydraulic systems and components for industrial equipment and fluid‑power applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, cost‑effective solutions that meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design hydraulic power units, circuits and fluid‑power systems.
• Develop hydraulic schematics, layouts and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Select and size pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulators, filters and related components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, flow analysis and system performance evaluations.
• Generate bills of materials and technical documentation.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, commissioning and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Create and revise models, drawings and BOMs for rotating‑equipment parts and assemblies.
• Interface daily with design team members, project managers, shop and quality‑control personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to work primarily in an office environment (≈90%) with occasional shop exposure.
• Comfortable sitting at a computer for extended periods.
• Willingness to work day shift (8 am‑5 pm) with approved overtime.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Strong hydraulic calculation and flow‑analysis abilities.
• Experience selecting pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulators and filters.
• Ability to produce accurate bills of materials and technical documents.
• Knowledge of Engineering Graphics (plus), CSWA or CSWP (plus).
