Design Engineer – Hydraulic Systems

About the role

DXP is seeking a Design Engineer to develop and implement hydraulic systems for industrial equipment and fluid‑power applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to create reliable, cost‑effective solutions while supporting testing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design hydraulic power units, circuits, and fluid‑power systems.
• Create hydraulic schematics, layouts, and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Select and size pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, accumulators, filters, and related components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, flow analysis, and system performance evaluations.
• Generate bills of materials and technical documentation.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and ongoing improvement projects.
• Collaborate daily with design team members, project managers, shop floor, and quality‑control personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with hydraulic system design and analysis.
• Ability to work in an office environment with occasional shop‑floor interaction.
• Willingness to work day‑shift hours (8 am‑5 pm) with approved overtime.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software for creating schematics and drawings.
• Hydraulic calculations and flow analysis.
• System performance evaluation.
• Bill of materials generation.
• Technical documentation preparation.
• Testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of hydraulic systems.
• Engineering graphics (a plus).
• CSWA or CSWP certification (a plus).
