Design Engineer – Civil/Structural Systems

About the role

CF Industries is seeking a Design Engineer to provide civil and structural engineering design support across its manufacturing complexes. You will work on a variety of projects, from pipe supports and foundations to platforms, lifting devices, and site infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry codes and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate within a 15‑person Engineering Design team to deliver piping, mechanical, and document‑control expertise.
• Perform structural analysis for moderate to complex steel and concrete structures and foundations.
• Prepare design calculations in accordance with ACI, AISC, ASCE, and IBC codes.
• Conduct field surveys, including laser scanning and point‑cloud registration.
• Create 2D/3D CAD layouts, fabrication, and assembly drawings for civil/structural systems.
• Interpret pipe‑stress and flexibility reports to engineer supports and restraints.
• Provide technical guidance to plant designers, maintenance, operations, and project engineers.
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering design standards and specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, incident investigations, and resolution activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience with civil/structural engineering design and applicable codes.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
