Design Coordinator

About the role

As a Design Coordinator at HDR, you will support the Architecture practice by contributing to the design and delivery of diverse projects such as healthcare, educational, civic, research, and infrastructure facilities. You will work under the guidance of Project Architects and Project Managers to ensure design excellence, sustainability, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and apply architectural techniques and procedures to construction documents.
• Perform architectural assignments with general instruction from Project Architect or Project Manager.
• Collaborate directly with owners/clients to recommend procedures and select solutions.
• Write specifications for architectural matters and conduct code reviews.
• Assist Project Architects, Architectural Project Coordinators, and Technicians across all project phases.
• Perform additional duties as needed, including occasional travel to project sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
• Eligibility to obtain professional registration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and eventual registration.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Experience with SketchUp (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with sustainable design/LEED concepts (desired but not required).
