Design and Support Engineer

About the role

Precision Custom Components is seeking a dynamic Design and Support Engineer to create and maintain unique machining, welding, and testing fixtures, as well as material‑handling and safety equipment. You will work closely with multiple departments to ensure every component is safe, structurally sound, and manufacturable.

Key responsibilities

• Design in‑house fixtures, shipping arrangements, material‑handling equipment, and general facility tools.
• Monitor equipment usage, recommend improvements, and support plant layout, building modifications, and new construction.
• Perform design calculations, structural and thermal simulations, and prepare detailed design reports.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III and Section VIII requirements.
• Act as Load Test Examiner: generate P&IDs, train shop personnel, maintain and calibrate test equipment, and provide technical support during tests.
• Act as Derivative Classifier: apply classification to new materials, review and redact CUI, NOFORN, and U‑NNPI documents.

Required profile

• Proactive engineer with experience designing custom fixtures and equipment where no prior design exists.
• Strong understanding of ASME pressure vessel codes and safety standards.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and support cross‑functional teams.
