Departmental Technician (Levels 7-10) – Macomb County

About the role

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is seeking Departmental Technicians for its Macomb County offices. Technicians provide a range of technical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of office equipment, telephone and security systems, and assist with problem detection and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot office equipment, including computers, printers, and audiovisual devices.
• Coordinate telephone system functionality and address related issues.
• Monitor and support alarm and security systems for local offices.
• Conduct analysis, research, and special projects as assigned.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the local office and the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB).
• Provide guidance and training to other staff members on technical procedures.
• Document incidents and generate reports on system performance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
• Experience with office equipment, telephone systems, and basic security system operations.
• Ability to work under supervision at entry level and independently at advanced levels.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
