Dental Assistant

About the role

Join the dental team at Seldovia Village Tribe (SVT) as a full‑time Dental Assistant. You will work four days a week, providing both clinical and administrative support in a fast‑paced community clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Dental Director and Dental Hygienist chair‑side during procedures.
• Organize, sterilize, date, and prepare dental equipment following standard protocols.
• Monitor and maintain equipment such as compressors, radiographic developers, sterilizers, and curing lights.
• Order and manage inventory of clinic supplies.
• Keep operatory, laboratory, and reception areas clean, organized, and stocked.
• Travel quarterly to other communities by small aircraft or boat as required.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with patients and coworkers.
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes, multitask, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to anticipate patient needs and follow up until they are met.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and fingerprinting.
• BLS/First Aid certification (provided by SVT).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Mac and PC operating systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records systems.
