Dental Assistant – Full-Time

About the role

Rockbridge Area Health Center is seeking a full‑time Dental Assistant to support its mobile dental program and clinic operations in Lexington and occasional sites in Buena Vista. You will work directly with dentists and hygienists to deliver primary‑care dental services to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the dentist and dental hygienist during patient examinations and procedures.
• Maintain sterilization, preparation, and inventory of dental instruments and supplies.
• Support the mobile dental program by traveling to community sites as needed.
• Perform basic patient care tasks, including taking radiographs when certified.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support Provider certification at time of hire.
• Completion of an Accelerated Dental Assisting program or prior dental assisting experience.
• Preferred: Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification and X‑Ray certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Dental instrument sterilization and inventory control.
• Dental assisting techniques and patient care.
• Radiography (X‑Ray) operation – if certified.
