About the role

The University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College is seeking an extra‑help dental assistant to support faculty and students in clinical and laboratory settings. The role involves preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining equipment and materials for a variety of dental procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and clean clinical and laboratory materials and instruments for dental procedures.
• Ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
• Prepare dental materials, fabricate and trim temporary crowns.
• Assemble trays and assist with instrument organization.
• Support radiography activities and assist with imaging equipment.
• Aid in competencies such as amalgam and composite restorations, sealant placement, crown preparation, fluoride varnish application, and patient education.
• Maintain cleanliness, hand‑washing protocols, and overall lab environment.

Required profile

• Graduate of a CODA‑approved dental program with at least an associate degree.
• Ability to work under faculty supervision in a clinical setting.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to infection‑control standards.
• Good communication skills for interacting with students and patients.
