Demand Planning Manager

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a Demand Planning Manager responsible for improving demand planning strategy and accuracy through sales and operations processes, tools and methodologies. The role supports the enterprise sales and operations process across all business segments and sales verticals, and involves managing a group or team of individual contributors.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the enterprise sales and operations process for all business segments and sales verticals.
• Assist in day-to-day demand planning, including building a repeatable process, developing one-off and recurring demand analytics, and delivering the total demand and supply plan/forecast through each process cycle.
• Develop and implement metrics and reporting on forecast accuracy and issues, using them to find root causes and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate the sales and operations process to achieve optimal customer service levels and working capital and inventory performance.
• Research, document, share and implement best-practice distribution industry processes and methods.
• Identify and reconcile forecast discrepancies, risks and opportunities, and work to close gaps.
• Create statistical forecasts and quantify risk using established quantitative methods and application software.
• Analyze data and turn complex data sets into executive-level presentations.
• Work with Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Inventory and Finance to include new product onboarding, product retirements, customer-specific inventory needs, regulatory changes and promotions in the demand planning process.

Required profile

• Typically a BS/BA in a related discipline.
• Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field; an advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
• Certification may be required.
• Ability to analyze and investigate solutions, make decisions based on professional methods and business principles, and manage a group or team of individual contributors.
