Dean of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library

About the role

The Texas A&M International University seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Dean of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean will guide the library’s strategic direction, support teaching, learning, research, and scholarship, and position the library as a core partner in the university’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for a team of 20 full‑time staff and ~20 student workers.
• Manage an annual operating budget of $2.6 million, overseeing finances, facilities, technology, and services.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, assessment, marketing, and public‑relations initiatives.
• Lead collection development, acquisition, cataloging, and interlibrary collaboration.
• Seek external funding and write grant proposals to enhance programs, facilities, and collections.
• Coordinate library services that support diverse academic programs and delivery methods.
• Establish policies, procedures, and continuous‑improvement processes.
• Foster partnerships across campus, the community, and other institutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in academic library administration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage substantial budgets.
• Strong record of strategic planning, assessment, and external fundraising.
• Commitment to supporting student success, faculty research, and academic innovation.
