Data Scientist – Transmission ROW Risk Analytics

About the role
We are looking for a highly analytical, mission‑driven Data Scientist to develop quantitative risk analysis and predictive analytics for our Transmission Right‑of‑Way (ROW) Risk Reduction Strategy. You will translate field, asset and operational data into actionable insights that help prioritize encroachments and prevent safety, reliability and wildfire events.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement quantitative risk frameworks, defining risk equations, scoring methodologies and analytical models.
- Build predictive models to estimate the likelihood of safety or reliability events using statistical and machine‑learning techniques.
- Conduct scenario modeling, simulation and geospatial/spatiotemporal analysis to identify leading risk indicators.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams across electric operations, asset management, vegetation management, engineering, risk, compliance, GIS, inspection and program management.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to business and executive stakeholders to support proactive decision‑making.
Required profile
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in statistical modeling and machine‑learning.
- Ability to work in complex operational environments and collaborate with diverse functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical insights to non‑technical audiences.
