Data Scientist Manager – Liquidity Risk (FR 2052a)

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking an experienced Data Scientist Manager to lead the FR 2052a team. This team processes, analyzes, and monitors liquidity data from large and foreign banking organizations, supporting the Fed's supervisory surveillance program.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of data scientists, handling hiring, training, and performance.
• Oversee data extraction, cleaning, and transformation of large‑scale liquidity datasets.
• Design and supervise data‑quality testing, validation, and security protocols.
• Maintain system databases, control access, and coordinate enhancements with stakeholders.
• Lead automation initiatives and improve analytical workflows.
• Conduct complex analyses on liquidity risk, model development, and policy issues.
• Plan and execute projects involving internal and external partners.
• Prepare and deliver clear communications to leadership and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced data‑science expertise or deep liquidity‑risk knowledge.
• Proven experience leading data‑driven analytical teams.
• Strong understanding of large, complex financial datasets.
• Ability to work onsite regularly and collaborate across multiple Federal Reserve entities.
