Data Scientist Intern

About the role

Nuro is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to support the development and operational performance of its autonomous vehicle systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to define metrics, conduct deep‑dive analyses, and build machine‑learning models that drive real‑world autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to collect data and define performance metrics.
• Perform deep‑dive analyses that inform fleet management and deployment decisions.
• Design, develop, and validate machine‑learning and statistical models for autonomous‑vehicle testing and service operations.
• Own the full model lifecycle: problem definition, data quality assessment, research, productionization, documentation, and ongoing support.
• Create and maintain visualization dashboards to monitor operational metrics and provide actionable insights.
• Promote data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.
• Implement AI strategy components such as CI/CD pipelines and API integrations for internal tools.

Required profile

• Current BS, MS, or PhD candidate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with standard statistical methods (e.g., linear and logistic regression).
