About the role

As a Data Science Manager at RELX (Elsevier), you will lead high‑performing teams that build AI‑driven solutions to accelerate scientific discovery, improve healthcare outcomes, and expand human knowledge. Your work will shape products used daily by millions of researchers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and researchers.
• Define and execute data‑science strategies for scientific discovery and research intelligence.
• Deliver AI‑powered capabilities in search, retrieval, recommendation, NLP, knowledge systems, and generative AI.
• Translate complex scientific and business challenges into scalable, measurable data‑science solutions.
• Set high standards for experimentation, model quality, reliability, and responsible AI.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, UX, Analytics, and domain experts to shape product strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data‑science or AI teams in a research‑oriented environment.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align technical work to business goals.
