Data Privacy Litigation Associate

About the role

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Data Privacy Litigation Associate to join its Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation business unit. The role is open for candidates in California, with the option to work from our Los Angeles, Oakland, or virtual offices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct factual investigations and manage discovery in complex commercial litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Take and defend depositions, and engage in settlement negotiations.
• Handle California‑specific data privacy matters, including CIPA and CCPA compliance.
• Assist with arbitration and class action proceedings as needed.

Required profile

• Active California bar license or commitment to obtain one promptly.
• Three to four years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent judgment, multitasking ability, and clear communication of legal strategies.

Required skills

• Experience with California data privacy statutes (CIPA, CCPA).
• Familiarity with arbitration and class action processes.
