Data Platforms Analyst – Consumer Data & ML Ops

About the role

National Geographic is looking for a technically skilled and intellectually curious Data Platforms Analyst to support data‑driven decision‑making across its subscription business. The role sits at the intersection of data engineering and applied analytics, helping to build pipelines, create behavioral segments, and operationalize machine learning outputs for marketing, retention, and personalization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clean, reusable data models for reporting and forecasting.
• Support the build‑out of CI/CD and testing practices for data workflows.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into structured analytics layers.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to prepare and monitor ML features.
• Document processes, contribute to data governance, and ensure data quality.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data operations, or marketing analytics, preferably in a subscription, media, or digital consumer environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non‑technical partners.
• Based within commuting distance of Washington, D.C. and able to work on‑site four days per week.
