Data Integration & Reporting Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The Data Integration & Reporting Intern will support the International Rescue Committee’s San Diego office by assisting with data extraction, transformation, and loading activities. This unpaid, fall‑2026 internship offers hands‑on experience with automation tools and nonprofit data workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Extract data from files (Excel, CSV), databases, cloud storage and APIs.
• Clean, structure, and standardize datasets for internal use.
• Load processed data into dashboards, databases, or other systems.
• Develop scripts to automate recurring tasks using Python, SQL and Excel macros.
• Assist in creating indicators, calculated fields and key metrics for program performance tracking.
• Document data workflows and support data quality checks for the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills
