Data Entry Operator I – White Plains, NY

About the role

The Data Entry Operator I will be responsible for accurately entering patient and specimen information into the laboratory information system for a busy clinical laboratory in White Plains, NY. This full‑time position works the second shift (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM) and offers competitive hourly pay with shift differentials.

Key responsibilities

• Verify requisitions for completeness of patient and client information.
• Enter patient and specimen details (name, location, site, etc.) into the laboratory information system.
• Pull orders for clients using bidirectional interfaces when applicable.
• Confirm patient names via Navinet/Emdeon or other approved sites for cases lacking insurance cards.
• Provide copies of illegible or missing data to Client Services for follow‑up.
• Assist in training new staff members and follow all standard operating procedures.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
• At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and lift items up to 20 lb.
• Full range of motion, manual finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.

Required skills

• Laboratory Information System (LIS) data entry.
• Navinet/Emdeon verification tools.
• Basic medical terminology.
