Data Engineer – Insight Platform

About the role

CGI is looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to own the technical health of the Insight data platform. You will ensure reliable ingestion, transformation, and delivery of ERP and operational data to downstream analytics and reporting environments.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, deploy and tune Debezium connectors for Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Manage Kafka topics, offsets, Schema Registry artifacts and connector configurations.
• Operate and optimize Kafka, Zookeeper, Schema Registry and Kafka Connect workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) via Rancher.
• Develop and maintain Snowflake transformation logic, including streams, tasks, stored procedures and performance tuning.
• Build and extend Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, row‑level security and incremental refresh processes.
• Resolve incidents related to stale data, CDC failures, schema defects and timeout conditions.
• Lead source‑database activities such as refreshes, blue‑green deployments and full‑load resynchronizations.
• Improve observability and automation through alert design, redeployment scripts and runbook maintenance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering or related enterprise technology roles.
• Proven ability to operate complex, cloud‑based data pipelines in production environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on root‑cause remediation.
