Data Engineer III – Cloud‑Native Data APIs

About the role

MAPFRE USA is seeking a self‑motivated Data Engineer III to join its Data Engineering team. You will help drive the company’s transformation into a data‑driven organization by building secure, scalable, cloud‑native data services and APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality cloud‑native data APIs for enterprise data access.
• Collaborate with solution architects to define integration patterns such as event‑driven, REST, GraphQL, CDC and streaming.
• Implement API observability, including logging, performance monitoring, data contract enforcement and monetization.
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices across the team.
• Build scalable, high‑performance data pipelines on AWS to support analytics workloads.
• Create and maintain data maps, relationships and technical documentation.
• Work with Data Governance to apply quality rules and ensure compliance.
