Data Engineer I – Databricks & SQL

About the role

Travelers is seeking a Data Engineer I to join its Data Engineering team. You will design, build, and operationalize data pipelines that enable analytics, AI, and machine‑learning across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions, apply transformations, and recommend data‑cleansing and quality improvements.
• Design end‑to‑end data solutions and assess source data for analytical value.
• Incorporate data governance, security, and quality best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, educate end users, and support delivery of data products.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve moderate‑complexity defects and incidents.
• Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent.
• Six years of relevant experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SQL.
• Proficiency with Databricks.
• Experience using BI tools such as Qlik or MicroStrategy.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.

• Annual base salary range $109,300 – $180,200.
