Data Center Technician – Telecom Cable Puller

About the role

The Data Center Technician (Telecom Cable Puller) will physically route, install, and secure fiber optic and copper cables in data center, commercial, and residential environments. This entry‑level, onsite position is essential for maintaining reliable telecommunications infrastructure across Wisconsin and Chicago, IL.

Key responsibilities

• Thread, pull, and secure telecom cables (e.g., CAT6, fiber, coaxial) through conduits, cable trays, and wall cavities.
• Install and label cable runs according to blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations and using required personal protective equipment.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely cable deployment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical stamina to handle repetitive manual labor and lift up to 50 lb.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, labeling schematics, and construction drawings.
• Preference for prior experience in structured cabling, construction, or electrical environments, though on‑the‑job training is provided.
• Commitment to safety compliance, including OSHA 10 Safety Course (a plus).
