Data Center Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support its data center portfolio from design through operations. The role combines design engineering, field support, and coordination with MEP consultants to deliver sustainable, high‑performance data center cooling solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support design managers and MEP consultants on mechanical, plumbing, and controls drawings for data center cooling.
• Coordinate customer design requirements and ensure they are incorporated on each project.
• Provide on‑site field support during construction, verifying compliance with design specifications.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to resolve site‑specific challenges and improve constructability.
• Assist third‑party engineers in preparing construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and performance models.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs to ensure adherence to Rowan’s quality standards.
• Identify risks throughout the project lifecycle and support additional technical tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field); EIT or sustainable design accreditation preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in data‑center or complex industrial MEP design, especially critical cooling systems.
• Hands‑on construction experience with strong HVAC and plumbing knowledge, safety standards, and quality control.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Experience using Procore, AutoDesk Forma, and Blue Beam Revu.
• Familiarity with CFD software such as Star‑CCM or SixSigma (preferred).
• Knowledge of MEP design, BMS/EMS controls, and sustainability guidelines.
