Data Analyst – Power BI & Tableau Specialist

About the role

Join the Market Forecasting Services (MFS) Group at the New York Power Authority as a Data Analyst. You will work closely with a team of analysts to design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau, transforming legacy Excel models into modern visual solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Power BI and Tableau dashboards and underlying data models in collaboration with the MFS team.
• Convert legacy Excel models and datasets into scalable Power Platform solutions.
• Connect to multiple data sources, including SharePoint Lists, SQL Server databases, and other legacy systems.
• Create and maintain databases of historical information to support custom visualizations.
• Define and refine slicers, filters, and legends to enhance analytical insights.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise for visualization design based on business requirements.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Extensive experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Excel, Access) and data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of SQL database design and data integration.
• Ability to assess requirements, perform analysis, and make actionable recommendations.
