Data Analysis & Report Synthesis Internship – UNDP RBAS, New York

About the role

The Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) of UNDP is seeking an intern to support policy and research work, including the Arab Human Development Report and socio‑economic analyses across the Arab region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct data collection, desk reviews and quantitative analysis on topics such as macroeconomics, public finance, social protection, labor markets and poverty.
• Assist in drafting policy briefs, technical notes and economic assessments for regional stakeholders.
• Monitor and summarize macro‑economic indicators and policy shifts across the Arab States.
• Support organization of webinars, consultations and other events related to inclusive growth.
• Maintain internal databases, knowledge repositories and document good practices and case studies.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a postgraduate programme relevant to economics, development studies or a related field.
• Strong interest in development issues and the Arab States region.
• Excellent analytical, research and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and collaborate with a diverse team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with quantitative analysis tools such as STATA or R.
• Experience in data collection, literature review and policy brief preparation.
