Data & AI Engineer – AWS, Java & Python

About the role

Incentivio is building an intelligent guest‑engagement platform for multi‑unit restaurant brands. The Data & AI Engineer will design, develop and operate data platforms and AI‑powered applications on AWS, combining strong Java backend development with Python‑based data processing and machine‑learning workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable AWS‑based data, backend and AI solutions with emphasis on reliability, security and cost efficiency.
• Develop Java/Spring Boot services, APIs and data models that integrate MySQL, MongoDB and third‑party POS/payment systems.
• Build and maintain robust data ingestion and processing pipelines for transaction, guest, ordering, loyalty and payment data.
• Modernize the data platform using S3, EMR, Spark, Glue and Athena, and create reusable datasets for analytics and AI/ML.
• Develop generative AI and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) applications with Amazon Bedrock, OpenSearch and related technologies.
• Support predictive ML use cases such as churn prediction, recommendation engines and customer segmentation.
• Establish testing, monitoring and governance for data pipelines, AI model quality and production reliability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production software or data‑engineering experience, with strong Java/Spring Boot and AWS expertise.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, AI workflows and automation.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS data services (S3, EMR, Glue, Spark, Athena) and AI services (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker).
• Demonstrated ability to design reliable data pipelines, handle schema evolution and ensure fault‑tolerant operations.
