Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Join a well‑established nonprofit organization as a Cybersecurity Engineer and lead the protection of critical systems, networks, and sensitive data. You will help embed a security‑first mindset across the organization while supporting global community initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, identify, and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
• Design and implement security controls to safeguard infrastructure, systems, and data.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements to strengthen the security posture.
• Manage vulnerability remediation, system patching, and ongoing security monitoring.
• Evaluate third‑party vendors, review SOC reports, and assess associated risks.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training and end‑user education programs.
• Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure security best practices are followed.
• Assist with policy development, compliance initiatives, and security governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• CISM certification (required).
• 5+ years of experience securing enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems, networking concepts, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
• Proven experience investigating security events and implementing remediation strategies.
• Knowledge of information security frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
