Cybersecurity Analyst (Security & AI Governance)

About the role

The Cybersecurity Analyst (Security & AI Governance) protects Cogent’s information assets, technology infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, data, and AI initiatives from cyber threats and misuse. The role works closely with IT, development, business stakeholders and external partners to ensure security and AI projects comply with policies, standards, regulations, and emerging AI governance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, networks, applications, cloud platforms and AI‑enabled services for suspicious activity.
• Analyze security alerts, investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend remediation.
• Support incident response activities including containment, eradication, recovery and post‑incident analysis.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with technical and business owners.
• Review and analyze security logs from firewalls, SIEMs and other sources.
• Collaborate with CIO and CISO functions to develop cohesive cybersecurity and AI‑governance plans, including Shadow AI oversight.

Required profile

• Experience in cybersecurity operations and AI governance initiatives.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams including IT, developers and business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of security policies, industry standards, regulatory requirements and emerging AI governance frameworks.
