About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst 1 to support the Department of Juvenile Justice information security program. You will work in the Central Office in Decatur, assisting with security operations, tool support, and governance, risk, and compliance activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with security awareness and phishing training programs, tracking completion and effectiveness.
- Support incident response planning, documentation, and remediation of incident tickets.
- Maintain configuration and asset tracking using CMDB, Zendesk, and ServiceNow.
- Operate security tools such as Proofpoint email security, Blancco media sanitization, DMARC, and handle dark/frozen devices.
- Query data lakes for security‑related data.
- Conduct IT and information security risk assessments, audits, and gap analyses using eGRC tools.
- Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Continuous Authorization and Monitoring (CAM), and POA&M activities.
- Provide guidance on NIST security controls, track audit findings, and report remediation progress.
- Assist with System Security Plan (SSP) documentation and compliance with PII, PHI, HIPAA, CJIS, and other regulations.
- Complete assigned IT security initiatives and participate in required training.
Required profile
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with security operations, incident response, and security awareness programs.
- Familiarity with NIST frameworks, RMF, and GRC processes.
- Ability to work with multiple security tools and platforms in a government environment.
