Cyber Systems Engineer

About the role

The Cyber Systems Engineer applies a working knowledge of cyber security fundamentals to guide engineering and design activities that maintain and optimize the integrity of underwater systems data. Reporting to a Program Manager and Lead Systems Engineer, the role collaborates with OTECH personnel and clients to ensure cyber requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate cybersecurity requirements and integrate them into processes and system designs.
• Characterize the cyber‑attack surface, identify vulnerabilities, and develop cross‑functional cyber analyses.
• Advise on RMF compliance tasks, security assessment plans, and security configuration management.
• Design, develop, and implement system‑level security architecture and specific countermeasures.
• Coordinate with hardware, software, electrical, ILS, and cyber groups to resolve security issues and ensure NIST compliance.

Required profile

• BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or Systems Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years of practical experience in Cyber Systems Engineering.
• U.S. citizenship with TS/SCI clearance and CI Polygraph.
• Experience working in an ISO‑9000 environment and with DoD programs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce technical reports for management and clients.
