Cyber Security Specialist (1-2 years experience)

About the role

AaraTech Inc is looking for a motivated Cyber Security Specialist with 1–2 years of experience to support its information security, risk management, and compliance programs. This early‑career position offers hands‑on exposure to protecting systems, networks, and sensitive data in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and triage security alerts, logs, and events from SIEM, EDR, firewalls and other tools.
• Identify, assess, and document security risks, vulnerabilities and remediation actions.
• Collaborate with IT, application development, compliance and operations teams to implement and maintain security controls.
• Assist with vulnerability assessments, patch‑management tracking and remediation validation.
• Support incident response activities, including investigation, documentation and root‑cause analysis.
• Perform security configuration reviews and access‑control validations.
• Help prepare for audits and compliance assessments (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO, NIST, etc.).
• Maintain security documentation such as procedures, incident reports, risk registers and control evidence.
• Contribute to security awareness initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non‑technical teams.

Required skills

• Experience with security tools: SIEM, EDR, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, firewalls.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards: NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA.
• Understanding of network security, endpoint security and access controls.
• Log and alert analysis, vulnerability assessment and patch‑management processes.
• Familiarity with cloud security tools and IAM concepts.
