Cyber Security SOC Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security SOC Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Security Operations Center supporting VITA. The manager will design and evolve detection, response and improvement processes while staying current with industry tools and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Tier I‑III SOC analysts, ensuring shift coverage, performance, development and SLA compliance.
• Serve as senior escalation point for high‑severity incidents, overseeing containment, remediation and customer communication.
• Define and maintain the SOC detection pipeline, data model and automation fabric using Splunk, Tenable and CrowdStrike.
• Design Splunk dashboards, reports, correlation searches and alert actions to provide visibility into threats and SOC performance.
• Partner with the Operations Manager on strategic direction, providing technical and architectural guidance.
• Conduct threat hunting, IOC/TTP analysis and malware analysis, delivering clear remediation recommendations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in information security operations, SOC management or related fields.
• Proven leadership of security analyst teams (Tier I‑III).
• Strong understanding of incident response lifecycle and security monitoring.
• US citizenship not required.

Required skills

• Splunk administration and dashboard development.
• Experience with Tenable vulnerability management.
• Experience with CrowdStrike endpoint detection and response.
• Incident response and complex escalation handling.
