Cyber Security Engineer – Enterprise IT (DoD)

About the role

Persistent Systems is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join its Enterprise IT team supporting a Department of Defense program. Based in Clearfield, UT, you will safeguard mission‑critical infrastructure by managing vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous authorization.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cybersecurity analysis and remediation for Windows workstations, servers, network switches, routers, and virtualized environments.
• Develop and execute patch‑management processes to keep systems up‑to‑date.
• Run vulnerability and compliance scans with tools such as Nessus or ACAS, analyze results, and prioritize remediation.
• Implement hardening measures based on DoD STIGs and emerging threat intelligence.
• Maintain a CVE mitigation process and conduct log reviews from Windows, network devices, and security tools.
• Support incident response with technical analysis, containment, and forensic investigation.
• Enable DevSecOps automation for device scanning, patching, and CI/CD integration.
• Assist the ISSM with ATO/RMF documentation, including SSPs, risk assessments, and POA&Ms.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity operations or security engineering.
• Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks and security technical implementation guides.
• Ability to work collaboratively with system administrators and network engineers.
