Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The Cyber Security Analyst will plan, coordinate and guide cybersecurity activities across prevention, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) as well as audit, monitoring, privacy and business continuity functions. The role supports both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) projects, identifying and mitigating security risks associated with hardware and software implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute GRC strategies to protect city information assets.
• Conduct risk assessments for IT and OT projects and recommend mitigation measures.
• Perform security audits, continuous monitoring, and privacy assessments.
• Support business continuity and incident response planning.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure secure system designs.
• Maintain compliance with applicable safety policies, standards, and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Two years of full‑time experience in systems or network administration, or four years as a Systems Analyst performing cost‑benefit and feasibility studies for information systems.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license at the time of appointment.
• Clean driving record as defined by the City of Los Angeles hiring policies.
