Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The Cyber Security Analyst will provide critical cybersecurity and technical advisory services to a Department of Defense customer in Maui, Hawai'i. The role ensures compliance with DoD and Air Force cyberspace workforce requirements, maintains necessary certifications and clearances, and supports both unclassified and classified network systems.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that personnel have current IA certifications per DoD Manual 8140.03 and related Air Force directives.
• Conduct self‑inspections of the COMPUSEC program and support Inspector General cybersecurity and COMSEC inspections.
• Review and respond to tickets within five business days, manage software licensing inventories, and approve software for core communications networks.
• Monitor Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) for NIPRNet and SIPRNet and oversee the Data Loss Prevention program for removable media.
• Develop a bi‑monthly cybersecurity newsletter and post updates to the IT Support Hub.
• Implement vulnerability remediation using DISA STIGs and ACAS scans, manage patch cycles, and maintain POA&M approvals.
• Appoint primary and alternate COMSEC Responsible Officers and operate encryption devices, including firmware updates.

Required profile

• Active DoD/AF security clearance and relevant IA certifications.
• Familiarity with DoD manuals (8140.03, 8100.03), AFMAN 17‑1302‑O, and RMF processes.
• Experience supporting classified and unclassified network environments.
