Cyber Security Analyst III / Senior

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst III / Senior to join the Cybersecurity Analytics Support Team (CAST). The analyst will work closely with CAST personnel, supervisory staff, and Board of Governors’ staff to monitor and respond to cyber incidents affecting supervised institutions and emerging threats to the U.S. financial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with CAST and supervisory teams to investigate ongoing cyber incidents and emerging threats.
• Assess cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and exploitation activity and recommend mitigations.
• Track and report on threat‑actor groups targeting the United States financial sector.
• Provide expertise on cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and related security controls.
• Conduct incident management and response activities for cybersecurity events.
• Design and implement security architecture to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in multiple cybersecurity domains and frameworks.
• Ability to handle confidential supervisory and FOMC information; U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced background checks and sign a declaration of intent to become a U.S. citizen if not already.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NIST SP 800‑53 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001.
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK methodology.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Incident response and management capabilities.
• Security architecture and design implementation.
