Cyber Defense Analyst

About the role

UltraViolet Cyber is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst to join a services team at a premier customer site. The role focuses on analyzing, investigating, containing, and responding to cybersecurity alerts to protect sensitive data and maintain business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in‑depth analysis of intrusions across diverse computing environments.
• Conduct packet analysis and integrate threat intelligence into operational workflows.
• Monitor alerts using a SIEM platform, triage incidents, and escalate when necessary.
• Execute vulnerability scans, interpret results, and recommend remediation actions.
• Continuously monitor network infrastructure, applications, firewalls, proxy devices, and malware detection systems.
• Implement and optimize changes to security infrastructure to improve overall security posture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of operational experience securing and monitoring multiple platforms and network configurations.
• Broad knowledge of IT security concepts and general systems infrastructure.
• Experience with log correlation and packet analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of Active Directory and TCP/IP protocol suite.
