Customer Service Representative - Part Time Patient Registration

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is looking for a part-time, PRN Customer Service Representative to work in the patient registration area at Intermountain Bear River Hospital. You will help patients check into the hospital, answer questions during registration and build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion. No previous healthcare experience is required; training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy environment, across multiple screens, so that details are entered correctly between physician and nurse check-ins.
• Type quickly and work across multiple programs, staying ready for clinicians to interrupt the process for urgent care.
• Help patients who may be very ill or anxious, asking follow-up questions and building rapport in real time.
• Collect patient and insurance information quickly, knowing that health plans and coverage vary widely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Preferred: medical experience.
• Must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test and pass a background check before hire.
• Must be prepared to see illness and injuries in a hospital setting.

Required skills

• Quick study with technology.
• Ability to type and answer phones.
• Comfortable working across multiple programs and multitasking.

The base pay range is $16.00 - $21.10 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education. The position is part time, PRN as needed and on-call.
